JOIN THE GPMABL TOURNAMENT TEAM

2009 Tourney Teamsm.jpgEvery year, the National Men’s Senior/Men’s Adult Baseball League (GPMABL’s parent league) sponsors a number of local and national tournaments for its players.  If you play adult baseball as a hobby, this is quite simply the ultimate adult baseball experience.  For a few days, you get to leave work and family behind and live life as a ballplayer.  You hang out with the guys, play ball on the best fields — including Major League Spring Training fields in Arizona and Florida — hit the showers, grab some beers, and do it all again the next day.  With the talent in this league, we can certainly compete with the best teams out there, win a few games…and maybe take home a championship trophy!

For 2011, the GPMABL will field a team to travel to Arizona – October 19-23 – to participate in the National Men’s Senior/Men’s Adult Baseball League’s World Series where we will have an opportunity to play top teams from around the country on fields used by Major Leaguers during spring training.

Here’s the story:

Players We need a total of approximately 15 players including at least 5 who are quality pitchers to be competitive.

Costs — The GPMABL will subsidize the teams, but each player will still be responsible for approximately $700 (includes tournament entry fee, tournament hat, team supplies, airfare, hotel room, and rental car costs)

Uniform — The GPMABL will supply jerseys and tournament hats (see GPMABLers in Fall Classic picture).  Players are responsible for bringing blue socks or stirrups, gray pants, a t-shirt or baseball shirt with dark blue sleeves, and a blue belt.

Logistics — The GPMABL will work with MSBL National and its travel agency to secure best rates for flights, hotels, and rental cars.  Tournament attendees should be able to take advantage of tournament hospitality in the form of a welcome reception or meal, but players will be responsible for the costs of most meals and other incidental costs.

Signing up — Please let us know if you are interested. If you want to be a part of the team, please email brett@libertynet.org.
